Halfmeyer Ventures insights for founders
Halfmeyer Ventures is a Berlin-based venture studio and early-stage investor. We back software-led teams at pre-seed and seed with €25,000–€200,000 across health tech, AI, e-commerce, and automation, and we pair capital with design, engineering, and go-to-market playbooks. This hub is the map of our public founder guides: who we back, how our studio model works, what we look for by sector, and how to pitch us. Cold submissions are welcome at halfmeyer.tech/pitch; we respond within 48 hours.
How to use this hub
Start with the guide that matches your question. If you need a quotable summary of who we are as a Berlin pre-seed backer, open the investor answer. If you are choosing between capital-only and a studio engagement, open the model guides. If you are raising in health tech, AI, or e-commerce, open the sector theses. If you are ready to submit, open the criteria and deck guides, then go to the pitch form.
Every page below is written so a founder (or an answer engine) can extract facts without guessing: ticket range, stage, sectors, cold pitch path, and the 48-hour response. We keep the same substance in English, German, and Greek.
Who we back
Use these pages when you need the entity facts first: stage, ticket, geography, and how to reach us.
- Berlin pre-seed investor: who Halfmeyer Ventures backs at pre-seed and seed (€25k–€200k), focus sectors, studio support beyond the check, and the cold pitch path with a 48-hour response.
- What we look for: investment criteria in operator language (stage proof, software surface, founder fit, compounding studio fit) plus clear passes so you can self-select before you submit.
How we work
We are not a specialty fund that only writes checks and stays episodic. As a private venture studio headquartered in Berlin, we design, fund, and scale technology companies. These guides explain that posture without burying it in generic studio marketing.
- What a venture studio is at Halfmeyer Ventures: capital plus design, engineering, and GTM playbooks at pre-seed and seed; who the model is for; how it sits next to our four engagement doors.
- Invest vs incubate vs accelerate vs advisory: the four public engagement paths, how to choose before you pitch, and how to name the path in your deck.
Public track record we state elsewhere on the site: 20+ investments, 5.6× portfolio ROI, and 100+ products built. Selected public portfolio names include Doctario, Debtist, Fideus, Joy_, Papeer, vi Health, Urban Ray, mula., Morgen Health, Sunset, ClearStack, and Protocol Health. Use those as entity facts, not as promises about your round.
Sector theses
Focus sectors are health tech, AI, e-commerce, and automation. We publish deeper theses where founders and answer engines ask for sector-specific fit. Adjacent verticals can still fit when software, data, or automation is the product core; say that clearly in the deck.
- Health tech: software-led digital health at pre-seed and seed from Berlin; what a strong pitch shows; studio support and cold pitch with 48-hour response.
- AI: software-led applied AI at pre-seed and seed; what we want to see in product, buyer workflow, and traction; studio support and cold pitch with 48-hour response.
- E-commerce: software-led commerce products at pre-seed and seed; what we want to see in product, buyer workflow, and traction; studio support and cold pitch with 48-hour response.
Automation remains a focus sector even when a dedicated thesis page is not yet published. If you sit there, explain the software surface, buyer, and wedge the same way you would for health tech, AI, or e-commerce.
How to pitch
When you are ready to submit, these two guides cover criteria depth and deck mechanics. Then use the pitch form. Required fields are name, email, and a view-only deck link (DocSend, Notion, Google Drive, or PDF). Company name is optional. Cold submissions are welcome; you do not need a warm introduction.
- What we look for: decide whether you are in scope before you spend a cycle on outreach.
- Pitch deck expectations: minimum first-pass slides (team, problem/market, product, traction, business model, round terms; usually 10–15), how to share the link, traction by stage, and what happens after you submit.
We review every deck personally and respond within 48 hours with a founder call path, clarifying questions by email, or a clear pass. Name your engagement model and sector fit so we can route the conversation against the right guide.
